Our PTA funds or subsidizes the cost of student enrichment activities before, during and after school hours. Most programs rely heavily on parent volunteers, and on our community partners.
Arts Program: An After-School Arts Program emphasizing a variety of media and expressions. Fall Program runs until mid December. Winter/Spring Program is now enrolling for Jan 7 through June 10, 2010. These are ongoing classes with no repeats. Visit artforkidsschool.com to register/pay online. Full payment $257, Monthly $49 with a committment for the full semester.

Chess Club: Runs 11/3/09-1/27/10 3:30-4:30. Tuesday: Beginners A-Portable 2, Int1-Library, Int2-Portable1. Wednesday:Beginners B-Portable1. Chess Team for Tournaments will meet from February 2010 until the State tourney in April. More to come.

Foreign Language: Before-school Spanish Classes take place from 8:10-9:00 am Oct through June. Beginner's Spanish meets Tuesday, Advanced on Fridays.

Our PTA serves not only the School Community, but also models for our students the value of reaching out to the Local and State Levels.
Community Projects: Activities serving the needs within the local community, such as Canned Food Drives and The Giving Tree.
Directory: Annual publication of student/family directory, with sponsors from local businesses.
Hospitality: Providing refreshments at PTA activities.
Membership: Promoting and maintaining membership records.
Newsletter: Weekly publication of school and local events.
Picture Day: Organize and assist in Picture Day events.
Publicity & Print: Assisting PTA committees by copying and collating materials, and maintaing reader boards.
Room Parent Coordinator: Parent Volunteers assist Teachers with parties and special events.
Teacher Appreciation: Plan and coordinate activities for the Teacher Appreciation Week and other events.
Website: Supports PTA website.
Volunteer Coordinator: Compiles, maintains and distributes volunteer lists.
Legislative Liason: HHPTA is a strong advocate of our students, school and our School District in all matters pertaining to Funding, Curriculum, Testing and Teacher Excellence at the State level.

Family Life and Health seeks to promote each student's well-being in all aspects of his life, both at school and at home. Planned events seek to incorporate families and fun into our school community.
Attendance Line: Program to ensure the safe arrivial and attendance for all students.
Pumpkin Night: A fun, family-oriented event for all students.
Emergency Preparedness: Achieving and maintaining effective disaster planning.
Family Bingo: Bingo, fun and prizes for the whole family.
Field Day: End-of-year day filled with outdoor games and activities.
Playground Enrichment Program: A program provided by parents to enrich and support students during recess.
Skating Party: After-school skating fun at SkateKing Arena.
Vision & Hearing: Annual vision and hearing screenings for all students.
